The Commonwealth Bank has been a National Partner of Legacy's annual fundraiser, Legacy Badge Week, since 1998 and is proud to be involved with an organisation that provides care and support to our deceased ex-servicemen's loved ones. In 2008, Legacy Badge Week runs from 31 August – 6 September and gives us all the chance to support Legacy's work.
Legacy was established in 1923 by returned servicemen determined to take up a 'legacy of care' for the welfare of the wives and children of their many comrades killed during WW1. This support continues today for families impacted by the World Wars as well as those affected by more recent conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
Legacy's assistance ranges from children's education and medical support, to financial assistance. Over the past 10 years, the Commonwealth Bank has helped Legacy raise over $25 million to continue its support.
